Baramulla, Jan 26: The Indian Army proudly raised the national flag in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, in celebration of the 76th Republic Day.
On this significant day, as the nation observes its 76th Republic Day, citizens are showcasing exceptional enthusiasm, embracing the spirit of patriotism with cultural songs resonating throughout the air and people donning the colors of the flag, symbolizing unity and national pride.
The festive atmosphere reflects a collective commitment to honoring democratic values and the importance of the Constitution.
The grand celebration at Kartavya Path in the national capital highlights India’s rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military strength.
President Droupadi Murmu is leading the celebrations, while Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the chief guest for the occasion.
The Indian Army will feature prominently in the Republic Day parade, with the 61 Cavalry, led by Lt. Ahaan Kumar, taking the lead in the Mounted Column. Established in 1953, the 61 Cavalry is the sole active horsed cavalry regiment worldwide, comprised of various ‘State Horsed Cavalry Units.’ Following this, there will be nine mechanized columns and nine marching contingents.
Among the marching contingents are the Brigade of the Guards, the Jat Regiment, the Garhwal Rifles, the Mahar Regiment, Jammu & Kashmir Rifles, and the Corps of Signals, among others.
Approximately 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the parade, aligning with the government’s goal to enhance ‘Jan Bhagidari’ in national events. These esteemed guests from various backgrounds represent the visionaries of ‘Swarnim Bharat’ and include top achievers in different fields who have effectively utilized government programs.
For the first time, a tri-services tableau will showcase the spirit of cooperation and integration among the armed forces, themed ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat.’ This tableau will illustrate a Joint Operations Room that enables networking and communication between the three branches of the military.
