SRINAGAR, Dec 21: J&K Bank has introduced the “Kisan Adhikar Abhiyan,” a campaign designed to ensure comprehensive coverage of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
The initiative, which commenced on December 20, will continue until January 31, 2025, and is being implemented in partnership with the Directorates of Agriculture and Horticulture in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
The primary objective of this campaign is to enroll all eligible PM-Kisan beneficiaries into the KCC program and enhance the credit limits for existing KCC accounts.
This will guarantee that farmers receive the financial assistance necessary for their agricultural pursuits.
Daily camps will be hosted throughout the state, in cooperation with the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, to identify and register eligible beneficiaries who have yet to apply for the KCC.
The KCC scheme, a vital service of J&K Bank, offers farmers accessible credit to support their farming activities and lessen reliance on informal, high-interest loans.
Beyond crop production, the KCC also facilitates funding for post-harvest management, as well as dairy, poultry, and fisheries enterprises.
In this campaign, J&K Bank aims for 100% KCC enrollment, to reactivate inactive accounts, elevate credit limits, and issue Digital KCCs (RuPay Cards) for more convenient access to financial services.
Furthermore, the bank is working to streamline processes such as land verification to enhance credit access for farmers.
This initiative underscores the Bank’s commitment to fostering agricultural growth and rural development in the region.
Through its collaboration with the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, J&K Bank seeks to ensure that every eligible farmer in Jammu and Kashmir benefits from institutional credit, thereby contributing to the economic advancement of the region.
