NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday to address several significant issues, including the prompt restoration of statehood, according to officials. This marks Abdullah’s second meeting with the Union minister since he became the first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, formed following the reorganization of the former state in August 2019. Abdullah remains hopeful about a swift restoration of statehood and is likely to discuss a possible timeline.
