JAMMU, December 27: The government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a seven-day period of state mourning from December 26, 2024, to January 1, 2025, in memory of India’s former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26.
Throughout this mourning period, the National Flag will be displayed at half-mast at all official sites, and no entertainment functions will be conducted. The General Administration Department has circulated guidelines to ensure adherence to these protocols.
This decision, relayed by Commissioner/Secretary Sanjeev Verma, underscores the state’s tribute to the esteemed leader. Citizens are urged to comply with the mourning guidelines.
