JAMMU, Dec 9: On Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir government assigned five cabinet ministers to oversee 20 districts across the Union Territory. This allocation aims to enhance coordination, facilitate the effective execution of developmental initiatives, ensure closer monitoring of public services, and address other district-related matters.
As per the directive, the following districts have been assigned to the ministers for improved collaboration, implementation of developmental programs, and supervision of public services in the specified districts.
Surinder Kumar Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister, will oversee the Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, and Shopian districts. Meanwhile, Sakeena Masood (Itoo), the Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, has been assigned Kupwara, Srinagar, Kathua, and Samba districts.
Javed Ahmed Rana, holding the portfolio for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, has been allocated Doda, Rajouri, Pulwama, and Baramulla districts. Javid Ahmad Dar, the Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives, and Elections, is responsible for Ganderbal, Budgam, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts.
Lastly, Satish Sharma, who oversees Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and ARI & Trainings, will be in charge of Reasi, Udhampur, Kulgam, and Bandipora.
