JAMMU, Feb 10: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has introduced new regulations for resolving tie situations during the selection process for direct category positions, applicable to both gazetted and non-gazetted posts.
According to the order, in instances where the selection is determined by a written exam, the older candidate will be given preference in the event of a tie.
The same rule applies when the selection is solely based on interviews, as stated in the order.
When both the written examination and viva-voce are used for selection, priority will be given to the candidate who scores higher in the written test, the order noted.
In situations where multiple candidates achieve identical scores across both components, the candidate with the higher marks in the essential educational qualification for the post will be chosen, it added.
