SRINAGAR, Dec 1: In a recent operation, police apprehended two drug traffickers in Srinagar and seized illegal substances from them, according to officials.
The individuals have been named as Arif Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Barthana Qamarwari, and Asif Ahmad Sheikh from Babapora Barthana, as stated by the police on Sunday.
The suspects were intercepted at a checkpoint in Barthana while traveling in their vehicle.
“On conducting a search, officers confiscated 628 grams of Charas and 650 grams of Cannabis Powder from them,” they reported.
Following the arrests, they took possession of the vehicle used in the crime.
A case has been registered at Police Station Parimpora under FIR No. 136/2024, with an investigation now underway.
“We encourage the community to report any instances of drug trafficking or other crimes they observe by contacting the nearest police station or calling 112,” police added.
