SRINAGAR, Dec 10: The Jammu and Kashmir police announced today that they have confiscated a vehicle suspected to have been purchased using profits from the illegal narcotics trade in Srinagar.
The vehicle was taken from two drug dealers, Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, both hailing from Babapora Barthana.
“The two individuals have been apprehended under case FIR no.136/2024, charged under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at PS Parimpora, and the vehicle used in the crime has been seized,” stated the police.
“An investigation revealed that the vehicle was obtained through proceeds from their illegal drug activities,” they added.
The vehicle confiscation was carried out in accordance with section 68 of the NDPS Act.
“The J&K Police reaffirms its dedication to combatting the drug issue and dismantling the networks involved in narcotics trafficking,” they concluded.
