Kulgam, Dec 21: The cyber cell of the Jammu and Kashmir police successfully recovered 30 smartphones in Kulgam. This operation was initiated following numerous applications and reports from the public regarding missing and stolen mobile phones, according to police officials.
Additionally, the Cyber Cell Kulgam addressed significant online financial fraud cases, recovering an amount of Rs 11,09,565 which has been returned to the victim’s account after fulfilling all legal procedures. Furthermore, Rs 21,88,715 is currently on hold in response to various complaints, as reported by police.
The Cyber Cell of Kulgam Police urges the public to exercise caution when using mobile phones and other electronic devices to protect themselves from cyber-related fraud and crimes. Those who fall victim to Cyber Crime or Fraud are advised to promptly lodge a complaint on the Online Portal cybercrime.gov.in and contact the Cyber Cell Kulgam immediately, according to police.
Moreover, citizens are encouraged to take necessary precautions to defend themselves against cyber-related frauds and crimes. The Cyber Cell has emphasized the importance of minimizing personal information shared on social media, refraining from sharing Aadhaar, PAN Card, or any finance-related OTP with others, the statement added.
