Srinagar, Mar 3: In a crucial move against terrorism, authorities have attached the residence of a terrorist associate in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) this Monday.

Identified as Ilyas Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wandina Melhoura, the property—a double-storey house—was attached in accordance with Section 25 of the UAPA Act, 1967. The asset, recorded under Khasra No. 115 in Wandina village, is valued at Rs. 24,09,221. This attachment has been officially logged in the revenue records, and appropriate legal notices have been issued to prevent its sale or transfer as mandated by the UAPA.
“This action is connected to Case FIR No. 94/2024 at Police Station Zainapora and was carried out with the presence of an official police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring adherence to legal protocols,” police officials stated.
“This attachment represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat unlawful and subversive activities within the region,” they continued, emphasizing the commitment of the Shopian Police to neutralizing threats to national security and maintaining peace and order.
