SHOPIAN, Dec 28: The District Development Commissioner of Shopian has enforced strict measures against three Assistant Executive Engineers for neglecting their responsibilities during the crucial snow clearance operations presently taking place in the district.
The suspended engineers, named Muhammad Noordin, Zaffar Ahmed, and Muhammad Saleem, were penalized for their unauthorized absences.
An official investigation uncovered that these engineers, who were expected to participate actively in snow clearance and assist the local community, were found outside their assigned locations. Muhammad Noordin was located in Chadoora, Zaffar Ahmed in Janglatmandi Anantnag, and Muhammad Saleem in Srinagar. “Their absence, at a moment when the entire administrative framework is dedicated to alleviating the impact of heavy snowfall, is considered a severe violation of duty,” stated the Deputy Commissioner.
“While an inquiry directed by the Additional District Development Commissioner is underway, the engineers have been reassigned to the 24×7 Control Room in Shopian, where they must report immediately.”
