Kishtwar, Dec 4: Two individuals lost their lives and 14 others sustained injuries when a vehicle they were in fell into a steep gorge in the Dangdoor area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday evening, according to sources.

Authorities reported that a cruiser vehicle (6576-JK17), carrying employees of a power project under construction, was involved in the accident.
The driver reportedly lost control, leading the vehicle to plunge into a deep gorge near Treethal Nala at Dachhan.
Immediately following the incident, locals and police initiated rescue operations; unfortunately, two individuals died at the scene, while 14 were injured.
The injured were quickly transported to the district hospital for treatment.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh commented on X, stating, “I just spoke with DC #Kishtwar, Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan, after receiving news of an unfortunate accident involving a cruiser in the Dandaru area. Two fatalities have been reported. Further updates are pending. In the meantime, rescue operations are underway, and my office is in ongoing communication to ensure all necessary assistance is provided.
