GANDERBAL, Mar 1: Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, a judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and the Administrative Judge for Ganderbal District, visited the District Court Complex in Ganderbal today to evaluate the judicial infrastructure and assess the operations of the courts.
Upon his arrival, Justice Wani received a warm welcome from Abdul Nasir, the Principal District & Sessions Judge of Ganderbal; Jatin Kishore, the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal; and other Judicial Officers from the District Headquarters.
The District Police Ganderbal honored him with a guard of honor upon his arrival.
During his visit, Justice Wani held a meeting with the District Bar Association of Ganderbal. The session included the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Abdul Nasir, and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore. Members of the Bar Association raised several issues affecting their operations, particularly the need for additional workspace.
They proposed the construction of prefabricated structures within the court premises for attorneys, as well as the establishment of an ATM facility.
In response, Justice Wani instructed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the prefabricated structures, including essential furniture, as a priority.
He stressed that addressing these infrastructural issues is vital for the efficient functioning of the judiciary and the convenience of both lawyers and litigants.
Justice Wani also inspected the judicial proceedings of all courts at the District Headquarters in Ganderbal. He engaged with judicial officers, encouraging them to execute their duties with independence, impartiality, and without any fear or favoritism. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing older cases, specifically those that are over five years old, for timely resolution.
Justice Wani urged the judicial officers to approach their work with commitment, integrity, and enthusiasm to uphold the rule of law. He highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in judicial administration and ensuring timely justice delivery to litigants.
