GANDERBAL, Mar 1: Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, who serves as a Judge of the High Court for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and holds the position of Administrative Judge for the Ganderbal district, paid a visit to the District Court Complex in Ganderbal today to evaluate the judicial facilities and assess the operation of the courts.
Upon his arrival, Justice Wani was received with warm greetings from Abdul Nasir, the Principal District & Session Judge of Ganderbal, as well as Jatin Kishore, the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, along with other Judicial Officers stationed at the District Headquarters.
Justice Wani was honored with a guard of honor by the District Police of Ganderbal.
During his visit, he convened a meeting with the District Bar Association of Ganderbal, which saw the participation of Principal District and Sessions Judge Abdul Nasir, and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore. During the meeting, representatives from the Bar Association brought attention to various challenges impacting their operations, notably the scarcity of sufficient space.
They advocated for the construction of prefabricated structures within the court grounds to accommodate advocates, in addition to requesting the establishment of an ATM facility.
In response, Justice Wani instructed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) focusing on the prefabricated structures, including the essential furniture, as a priority.
He stressed that tackling these infrastructural issues is vital for the effective operation of the judiciary and for the convenience of both legal advocates and litigants.
Justice Wani also inspected the judicial activities in all courts at the District Headquarters in Ganderbal, engaging with judicial officers while urging them to undertake their responsibilities independently, impartially, and without fear or favor. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing older and targeted cases that have been pending for over five years for resolution.
Justice Wani encouraged judicial officers to serve with dedication, integrity, and enthusiasm in order to uphold the rule of law. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining high standards in judicial administration and ensuring that justice is delivered to litigants in a timely manner.
