JAMMU, Dec 31: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary reaffirmed today that Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) are a vital part of the cultural and social framework of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the government’s commitment to their dignified rehabilitation. These comments were made during a function held alongside his visit to Jagti Township in Nagrota.

Accompanied by Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Director Health Services Jammu, Director General Floriculture, and Director Food Supplies Jammu, alongside other senior officials, the Deputy CM reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Kashmiri Pandits and ensuring their well-being through targeted initiatives, supportive systems, and various welfare schemes. “We are intensifying efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents of Jagti township and Kashmiri Migrants as a whole, and our dedication to their rehabilitation remains steadfast,” he stated. He urged officials to resolve residents’ grievances promptly.
During the visit, the Deputy CM conducted a thorough review of the available facilities for township residents, evaluating the status of health and education infrastructure, drinking water availability, and other essential services. In a comprehensive examination of healthcare services at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Jagti, he instructed the Director of Health Services to ensure the provision of uninterrupted, high-quality medical care. He also emphasized the need for an adequate supply of medicines to meet patient needs, as well as upgrading existing hospital infrastructure.
