JAMMU, Dec 31: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary emphasized today that Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) hold a vital role in the cultural and social landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, and the government is committed to their respectful rehabilitation.
Choudhary made these statements during an event held in conjunction with his visit to Jagti Township in Nagrota.
Accompanying the Deputy CM were the Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Director of Health Services Jammu, Director General of Floriculture, and Director of Food Supplies Jammu, along with other senior officials.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the issues faced by Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring their welfare through specific initiatives, a strong support system, and various welfare programs.
“We are enhancing our efforts to improve the living conditions for both the residents of Jagti Township and Kashmiri Migrants in general, and our resolve for their rehabilitation remains steadfast,” he stated.
The Deputy CM instructed officials to promptly address the grievances raised by residents.
During his visit, Choudhary thoroughly reviewed the facilities available for the township’s residents, evaluating the state of health and education infrastructure, as well as the accessibility of drinking water and other vital services.
In a detailed examination of healthcare services at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Jagti, he directed the Director of Health Services to ensure consistent and high-quality medical care. He also emphasized the importance of a sufficient supply of medications to meet patient needs and called for upgrades to the hospital’s existing infrastructure.
