The new lighting was officially inaugurated by MLA Basohli Darshan Singh, Director ACB Shakti Pathak, and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas.
This project, initiated by the District Administration in response to a long-standing public request, aims to increase the bridge’s visual allure and strengthen its position as a prominent tourist site in the area.
During the ceremony, MLA Darshan Singh commended the district administration for addressing this community need, noting that the new façade lights would enhance the scenic beauty of Basohli and draw more tourists to the town.
Shakti Pathak, the Director of ACB and a local native, mentioned that the lighting elevates the Atal Setu’s attractiveness. He also praised the administration’s efforts in promoting the unique “Basohli Art on House Buildings,” which has enlivened the town with traditional art and culture.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas emphasized the Atal Setu’s role as a landmark of engineering and regional advancement. “The Atal Setu symbolizes more than mere connectivity; it represents progress and architectural excellence. The new lighting significantly enhances its majesty, especially at night, making it an essential stop for tourists. This initiative is set to boost tourism and position Basohli favorably on the global tourism map,” he stated.
