JAMMU, Mar 3: Senior BJP figure and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has expressed his strong disapproval of remarks made by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, claiming her statements are detrimental to national interests. He criticized her for spreading misleading information regarding land allocations for national highways and security facilities, juxtaposed with accusations of bulldozers being used on civilian land. In a statement, Kavinder noted, “Her comments lack factual grounding and only serve to instill unwarranted fear and confusion among the populace. The Government’s efforts are focused on enhancing infrastructure and security in Jammu and Kashmir, which is essential for the region’s development and stability. To make baseless claims against these initiatives is both reckless and harmful to the peace and progression of the Union Territory.”
He accused Mehbooba Mufti of engaging in petty politics and attempting to mislead the public for personal gain, asserting, “Her selective outrage reveals her hypocrisy. She must recognize that prioritizing national interests and development should not be sacrificed for political advantages.” Kavinder further called on the residents of Jammu and Kashmir to reject such divisive narratives and back the government’s projects aimed at transforming the region.
