JAMMU, Dec 2: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, criticized the remarks made by PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti, claiming that the nation is heading towards conditions reminiscent of the 1947 riots, describing them as extremely irresponsible and inflammatory.
In a media statement, Gupta expressed that such comments not only undermine the advancements and unity that the country has achieved over the last decade but also foster unnecessary fear and division among communities.
He strongly countered Mehbooba’s allegations, asserting that India is experiencing remarkable progress and unity under Narendra Modi’s leadership, a reality that the opposition seems unable to accept. These statements, he notes, arise from the desperation of parties that find themselves out of power, as the public continues to demonstrate unwavering trust in PM Modi’s guidance.
It is relevant to point out that Mehbooba had accused the BJP-led Government of exacerbating communal tensions in the country.
Kavinder further stated that drawing baseless parallels with the tragic riots of 1947, a period marked by the painful partition of the nation, represents a failed attempt to mislead the populace, potentially jeopardizing the peace of the country. He refuted Mehbooba Mufti’s claims that the BJP Government is the root cause of communal discord, arguing instead that her assertions are completely detached from reality. He emphasized that the BJP has consistently worked for the welfare of all citizens, devoid of bias or favoritism. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is rapidly advancing, ensuring inclusivity and development for everyone,” he affirmed.
