Kazakhstan Reports 42 Likely Fatalities in Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crash

MOSCOW, Dec 25: An Azerbaijani airline has faced a tragic incident, crashing in the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, with the country’s emergency ministry indicating that 42 individuals are presumed dead.

According to a Telegram statement from the ministry on Wednesday, there were 67 individuals onboard the aircraft, which included five crew members.

The preliminary assessment reported that 25 individuals have survived the crash, with 22 of those survivors requiring hospitalization.

The aircraft, an Embraer 190, reportedly made an emergency landing at Aktau airport, as stated by Azerbaijan Airlines. (AP)
