JAMMU, Feb 18: Khalsa Cricket Club and Janta Warriors Cricket Club secured exciting wins in their respective games during the ongoing 1st Sikh Premier Cricket League held at the University of Jammu ground, organized by Hari Singh Nalwa Cricket Club under the auspices of the Sikh Coordination Committee J&K.
In the first match, Khalsa Cricket Club set a formidable target of 164 runs, scoring 164/6 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Robin Singh was the standout performer, smashing 66 runs from 41 balls, which included 6 boundaries and 4 sixes. Harpreet Singh (30) and Jaspreet Singh (23) also made significant contributions. For Diamond Cricket Club, Pawandeep Singh (2/30) and Gurpreet Singh (2/35) were the pick of the bowlers. Chasing the target, Diamond Cricket Club came heartbreakingly close, finishing at 163/8 after their 20 overs. Jagandeep Singh’s impressive 45 runs off 28 balls kept the chase alive, while Baljinder Singh (38) and Gurpreet Singh (29) added to the total. Khalsa’s Dutta Gagandeep played a crucial role with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for just 14 runs. Robin Singh was honored as the Player of the Match.
In the second match, Janta Warriors Cricket Club comfortably chased down Bali Cricket Club’s target of 158 runs, ending their innings at 159/5 within 18.4 overs. Gurmeet Singh was the star of the show with a brilliant 61 runs off 39 balls, supported by an unbeaten 56 runs from Amrit Pal Singh. Bali Cricket Club scored 157/9 in their 20 overs, with Satpal Singh (29) and Daman Wazir (22) being their top scorers. Hardeep Singh and Vikramjeet Singh each picked up 2 wickets for Janta Warriors. Gurmeet Singh earned the Player of the Match award.
The Player of the Match awards were presented by dignitaries, including Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of Youth Services and Sports; Joginder Singh, SSP; Kartik, SDPO South; Ved Prakash, Joint Director of YS & Sports Jammu; Jitender Mishra, Deputy Director of YS & Sports Central; and Kirti Dhar.
