Bengaluru, Jan 18: KL Rahul is anticipated to miss Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy encounter against Punjab, starting on Thursday, as he continues to recover from an elbow issue.
Sources from PTI have indicated that the Indian batter has expressed concerns to the BCCI medical team regarding his condition, and they are currently monitoring his progress.
Nonetheless, Rahul may participate in the season’s final league match against Haryana, which begins on January 30.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association is expected to announce the squad for the match against Punjab in the next day or two.
Meanwhile, other Indian players from the state, Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal, will be available for selection, as both are presently competing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Devdutt has been in excellent form, scoring a century and a fifty in the two matches he has played since returning from Australia.
Punjab will field India batter Shubman Gill in the match against Karnataka.
The BCCI has mandated that top players participate in domestic games as part of a 10-point directive issued on Thursday.
To be exempt from this requirement, players must seek permission from the chairman of selectors.
