LEH, Dec 10: Marking a pivotal step for football development in Ladakh, the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) has officially inaugurated its World Coaches Program in Leh today. This initiative aims to equip local coaches to inspire and guide youth, promoting personal growth, essential life skills, and a sense of community through football.
The launch event saw the participation of key dignitaries, including Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, who commended the initiative as a progressive move for sports in the region. “Football is more than just a sport,” Gyalson noted, highlighting its crucial role in shaping the futures of young people and fostering stronger communities.
Tsering Angmo, Secretary of the Ladakh Football Association, reaffirmed her dedication to the sport’s advancement in the area, stating that the program would empower youth to emerge as community leaders. “It’s not solely about coaching football; it’s about inspiring our youth to take on leadership roles in their communities,” she asserted.
The event also showcased KNVB coaches Roger and Raimond from the Netherlands, who elaborated on the program’s philosophy and its accomplishments worldwide. They stressed the ability of football to bring people together and promote individual development.
A significant highlight of the launch was the introduction of the official jersey for the KNVB World Coaches Program. Deepak Khanolkar from ACOSA Sports, a collaborator on the initiative, emphasized the teamwork involved in the launch. “This marks the start of something remarkable, a collective vision that will forge enduring opportunities for the youth in Ladakh,” Khanolkar remarked.
The event wrapped up with Tsering Angmo delivering a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all who played a part in making the KNVB World Coaches Program a reality in Ladakh.
