MOSCOW, Dec 2: Russian President Vladimir Putin is anticipated to visit India next year as part of the established framework for reciprocal annual meetings between the leaders of both nations, as stated by the Kremlin.
President Putin has been invited to India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov mentioned during a recent media briefing.
The specific dates for Putin’s visit will be determined in early 2025, he added.
“Our leaders have agreed to convene once a year. This time, it’s our turn,” the diplomat commented.
“We have received Mr. Modi’s invitation and will certainly review it positively… We will establish the tentative dates early next year,” Ushakov stated.
Putin and Modi保持定期联系, holding telephone conversations once every few months. The two leaders also meet in person, particularly at international events.
In July, Prime Minister Modi undertook a two-day visit to Moscow to attend the 22nd Russia-India summit. In October, he was in Kazan for the BRICS summit.
In November, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a video interaction with senior Indian editors in Delhi, referred to the strong bilateral ties between India and Russia, mentioning that Putin’s visit is being planned.
However, he refrained from providing a specific timeline or making a definitive announcement regarding the visit.
“We are looking forward to the visit. The dates will be mutually agreed upon soon,” Peskov remarked. (PTI)
