JAMMU, Dec 15: Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Akhnoor, joyfully commemorated the 62nd Foundation Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The celebration commenced with a warm reception for the chief guest, Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Puri (Officer Commanding), followed by a charming welcome song performed by the students. The ceremony featured the lighting of a lamp by Lieutenant Colonel Puri and Principal Amit Walter, accompanied by soothing Vedic chants.
Various cultural performances showcased the rich diversity of India’s culture, including dance dramas. Lieutenant Colonel Puri expressed his appreciation for the event and motivated both students and teachers to strive for excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. Notable alumni shared their experiences, with Priya Sharma, currently training in the Kashmir Administrative Service, highlighting the creativity nurtured by Kendriya Vidyalayas, and National Defence Academy cadet Aryan Sharma encouraging youth to contribute to the nation.
Principal Amit Walter underscored the importance of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as the largest centrally managed school chain in India, which includes over 1,256 schools and three international branches. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by senior teacher Kamal Chandra Shukla.
