JAMMU, Feb 16: The Ladakh Administration has announced the implementation of the “Service of Summons Rules, 2025” in accordance with the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
These rules take effect immediately and require that summons be delivered personally by a police officer whenever feasible. Each police station is also required to maintain a register recording the details of individuals summoned, which includes their address, email, and phone number.
In an update, summons can now be sent electronically through personal messaging platforms or email, as long as they carry the court’s seal. These new regulations supersede the former S.O. 50 of 2024.
