BUDGAM, Dec 15: Abdul Rahim Rather, the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, conducted an inspection of various healthcare facilities in Char-i-Sharief to evaluate the available infrastructure and the quality of medical services provided to the local community.
During his visit, the Speaker toured several centers including SDH Nagam, PHC Nowpora, PHC Dada-Ompora, PHC Kanir, and CHC Kremshore. He focused on assessing the operation of essential health services, cleanliness standards, patient care, and the availability of necessary medical equipment and medications.
Throughout the inspection, Rather engaged with the medical staff and healthcare workers to gain insight into the challenges they encounter daily. He pledged that improvements would be made to the infrastructure and facilities to better serve the growing healthcare demands of the community.
The Speaker also spoke with patients and their families, seeking to understand their concerns and evaluating the quality of care provided at the facilities.
At SDH Nagam, local residents presented several issues and requests to the Speaker, including the need for a retaining wall and boundary wall around the hospital, the installation of a digital X-ray facility, the hiring of an ultrasound specialist, the establishment of a biodegradable medical waste management shed, the addition of a lift, an oxygen generation plant, and the resurfacing of the hospital access road.
In response, the Speaker assured the locals that their concerns would be addressed in a timely manner.
The Deputy Commissioner of Budgam, the Director of Health Services Kashmir, and various district and health officials accompanied the Speaker during his visit.
