*JU makes history with A++ NAAC grading

JAMMU, Dec 21: The University of Jammu has achieved a historic milestone by securing an esteemed A++ grade in the NAAC accreditation (Cycle IV) with a remarkable CGPA of 3.72 on a 4-point scale.

“This represents a significant advancement from the previous accreditation Cycle (Cycle III), where the university attained an A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.51, highlighting its dedication to quality improvement and sustainability,” stated Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai during a media conference today.
Joined by senior university officials, Prof Rai credited this achievement to the collaborative efforts of the entire university community. “The A++ grade is a reflection of the unwavering commitment of our faculty, staff, students, scholars, and alumni. It symbolizes our joint endeavor to establish the University of Jammu as a global leader in academic and research excellence,” he remarked.
“This recognition from NAAC is not merely an achievement but a source of motivation to enhance our commitment to quality, innovation, inclusivity, and societal impact,” he emphasized.
Prof. Rai expressed gratitude for the support received from Lieutenant Governor and Chancellor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister and Pro Vice Chancellor Omar Abdullah, and Higher Education Minister Sakina Itoo. “Their visionary guidance has been pivotal in helping the university reach this extraordinary milestone,” he added.
It is noteworthy that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prof Rai, the faculty, staff, scholars, and students of the University of Jammu for obtaining the coveted A++ Grade from NAAC. In a social media post, he stated that this outstanding achievement has brought pride to J&K.

I wish all the best for continued success in your mission,” he posted on X.
During the Vice-Chancellor’s media briefing, Dr. Ginny Dogra, Director of DIQA, provided a comprehensive overview of the parameters assessed by NAAC. The seven-member NAAC Peer Team evaluated the university across various Key Performance Areas, including Curricular Aspects, Teaching-Learning & Evaluation, Research, Innovations & Extension, Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Student Support & Progression, Governance, Leadership & Management, and Institutional Values & Best Practices. She reported that the university achieved full scores in the categories of Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Governance, Leadership and Management, and Institutional Values & Best Practices.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean of Research Studies, discussed recent research initiatives focusing on translational and transdisciplinary research.
Prof Anju Basin, Dean of Academic Affairs; Prof Meena Sharma, Dean of Planning and Development; Prof Naresh Padha; Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Registrar; Prof Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Director of CD&O; Prof Prakash Antahal, Dean of Students Welfare, and other officials accompanied the Vice-Chancellor.
