JAMMU, Nov 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged with the volunteers and officials from J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides at Raj Bhawan today. He praised their outstanding contributions to society and remarked, “Scouting instills the values of our civilization and rich cultural heritage in the youth. These volunteers exemplify discipline, friendship, and selfless service.”
He expressed his appreciation for the J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides team for their efforts in motivating more young people in the Union Territory to participate in this noble cause. “It’s inspiring to see membership grow from 7,500 in 2020 to 14,000 in 2024. The team’s work is commendable, and they continue to perform their roles with great efficiency and effectiveness,” he stated.
As the Chief Patron of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides, the Lieutenant Governor pledged full support to further develop the Scouts and Guides movement in the region. He asserted, “The young volunteers of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides represent the hopes and potential of our Union Territory, and I am confident they will contribute significantly to fostering positive socio-economic changes.”
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor was presented with a ‘Bharat Scouts & Guides Flag Sticker’ in celebration of the Foundation Day, which was held on November 7. He was also briefed on the activities and accomplishments of the Scouts & Guides in J&K. Present at the interaction were Wg. Cdr MM Joshi, National Commissioner for Bharat Scouts & Guides; Maitre Jain, J&K Commissioner (Guide); and other senior officials, trainers, and members of the Scouts & Guides.
