JAMMU, Dec 18: Today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha officially launched the Silver Jubilee edition of Shri Raghvendra Panchang at the University of Jammu.
During his speech, the Lieutenant Governor extended his congratulations to Chander Mouli Raina, the editorial team behind the Panchang, and all members of the Shri Raghvendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust for this significant milestone.
He praised the Trust’s commitment to raising awareness about cultural traditions and the preservation of the Panchang, which symbolizes India’s diverse culture and rich heritage.

“I am of the opinion that our exploration of astrology and ancient texts should resonate with people from every background. Promoting a global positive impact is essential. We need to foster the appreciation of a spiritually fulfilling life and value-driven living among our citizens,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.
He further emphasized the importance of understanding historical context to enhance our critical thinking and decision-making skills for a brighter future. “Returning to our roots is pivotal for a clear vision and future objectives,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor encouraged the Shri Raghvendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust to consider digital formats for the Panchang and to develop a mobile application for added value.
He added that the wisdom embedded in our ancient traditions should be made easily accessible, particularly for the youth.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged several organizations and individuals for their efforts to promote Sanskrit.
Present at the event were Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu; Prof. Devi Prasad Tripathi, former Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand University; Chandra Mouli Raina, president of Shri Raghavendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust; Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla, Head of the Department of Sanskrit at Jammu University; along with other notable citizens.
Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, and Rajinder Sharma, former Mayor of JMC, were also in attendance.
