Jammu, Dec 13: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the Annual Day Function of KC International School Jammu at the General Zorawar Singh auditorium today. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the management, teachers, and students, along with his best wishes.
In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor inspired students to “Dream Big!” and encouraged them to believe in themselves, emphasizing the importance of hard work, focus, and persistence in achieving their goals.
“I have always appreciated the energy, innovation, and dedication of our youth, and I’m thrilled to see them leading the charge for change,” he stated.
He noted that young people aspire to a society that is free from fear and corruption while being development-oriented. However, he cautioned that certain forces within the country are attempting to disrupt this progress. The Lieutenant Governor called for unity among the youth and society to combat such elements.
He urged the youth to unite under a shared vision to restore India’s status as Vishwa Guru and to honor the legacy of their ancestors who founded esteemed educational institutions like Nalanda, Takshashila, and Vikramshila.
Discussing the transformative changes in the educational framework in J&K under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he encouraged educators to rethink their teaching approaches and provide mentorship to students.
“Education is about fostering learning, not just delivering information,” he said. He stressed that active engagement between teachers and students is vital for sparking curiosity, creativity, and imagination. A nurturing environment is essential for developing lifelong learning, problem-solving capabilities, and promoting critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity among students.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the need for a harmonious balance between scientific knowledge and cultural values. He highlighted that while core subjects are essential, equal attention must be given to value-based education and encouraging innovation while respecting the individuality of students.
During the event, he recognized the achievements of meritorious students and commended the school for its significant contributions to enhancing knowledge and human capital.
The ceremony was attended by Chaitanya Chowdhary, President of KC International School, along with prominent citizens, the Principal, school staff, teachers, students, and parents.
