Jammu, February 13: Today, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the Rajya Puraskar Ceremony for the J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides held at the Convention Centre.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor awarded Rajya Puraskar Certificates to Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers, congratulating all the recipients. He emphasized that these certificates are a testament to their commitment, selfless service, hard work, and discipline.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the significant contributions made by individuals involved in the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement towards community service and nation building.
He stated, “J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides is on a mission to promote the idea that serving others should be a societal priority. With this vision, they are effectively fostering national integration and working tirelessly for societal improvement.”
He encouraged the Scouts and Guides to be ‘Agents of Change’ at the grassroots level, motivating the youth to commit themselves to the constructive transformation of society and the nation.
“Today, our youth represents the power to develop a progressive society and a prosperous nation. They are the spark that can ignite the transformation we seek.
It is crucial to empower Scouts and Guides to address socio-economic challenges with innovative solutions,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.
He urged the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides to raise awareness about various socio-economic issues and to actively engage in the preservation and protection of natural resources and the environment.
“I envision J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides forming a network of youth leaders across different sectors, connecting young people with our cultural heritage and traditions, and establishing a dedicated team of Scouts and Guides to combat drug abuse,” he affirmed.
As the Chief Patron of the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides, the Lieutenant Governor reiterated his commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization. He assured them that along with the Annual Grant-in-Aid, they will receive whatever support and financial assistance they need.
He also pledged total governmental support for the upcoming National Integration Camp.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor honored Scout Masters and Guide Captains.
Attendees included Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services and Sports; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Wg. Cdr. MM Joshi, National Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides; Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of Youth Services and Sports; along with other Administrators, Guide Captains, Instructors, Principals, teachers, and students from various schools.
