JAMMU, Nov 30: Today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged with the volunteers and officials of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides at Raj Bhawan.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the volunteers and all those involved with the Scouts and Guides movement for their outstanding contributions to society.
“Scouts and Guides instill within the youth the values of our civilization and ancient culture. They serve as an inspiring example of discipline, camaraderie, and selfless service,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.
He extended his congratulations to the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides team for encouraging more young individuals from the Union Territory to embrace this noble mission.
“It is a matter of immense pride that J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides have experienced a significant rise in volunteer enrolment, from 7,500 in 2020 to 14,000 in 2024. The efforts of the team are truly commendable, and they continue to fulfill their responsibilities with remarkable efficiency and effectiveness,” he stated.
As the Chief Patron of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides, the Lieutenant Governor pledged full support and assistance to enhance the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement within the J&K UT.
He expressed: “The young volunteers of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides embody the hope and potential of J&K, and I am confident in their capacity to contribute significantly to positive socio-economic transformations in the Union Territory.”
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor received the ‘Bharat Scouts & Guides Flag Sticker’ as part of the Foundation Day celebrations, which took place on November 7. He was also informed about the activities and accomplishments of the Scouts & Guides in the J&K UT.
Wg. Cdr MM Joshi, National Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides; Maitre Jain, J&K Commissioner (Guide); along with senior officials, trainers, Guide Captain, Scouts & Guides were in attendance during the interaction.
