JAMMU, Dec 8: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a speech during the 18th annual function of Mahavir (MV) International School, held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor extended his congratulations to the school administration, teachers, and students for their achievements.
He underscored the necessity of a Knowledge Revolution to propel India towards becoming a developed nation while supporting comprehensive growth across various sectors of the economy.
“In J&K, enhancing capacity and transforming schools into centers of excellence has been a core objective, and we have fostered a vibrant and competitive learning environment to leverage the innovative talents of the students,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the pivotal role of teachers in unlocking the potential of students and ensuring that the core competencies of the J&K UT are aligned for a brighter future.
He remarked that learning should transcend mere testing and assessments, advocating for a deeper understanding and awakening that connects the youth with ethical values and real-life applications.
Furthermore, the Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of cultivating a productive teaching-learning environment where educators are not limited to the curriculum and are encouraged to share their experiences and wisdom with their students.
“Without empowering teachers, we cannot empower students; without empowered students, our nation cannot be strong,” he asserted.
Discussing recent reforms in the education sector, he noted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is experiencing an educational revolution.
He also addressed the influence of Artificial Intelligence on the contemporary educational system and its significant potential in enhancing teacher-student interactions, emphasizing that AI should complement rather than replace educators.
“The focus should be on AI-supported classrooms rather than AI-led classrooms in our future strategies,” the Lieutenant Governor asserted to the educational institutions.
During the event, he acknowledged and honored students who excelled academically and in various fields, wishing them well. He also unveiled the poster for a Bhajan Video created by the school’s students titled “Garud Vahini Vaishnavi”.
Padma Shri Prof Vishwamurti Shastri, Padma Shri Dr SP Varma, Padma Shri Mohan Singh, Padma Shri Romalo Ram, Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Jammu, and Sh Bishan Singh Dardi were recognized for their notable contributions in their respective areas.
Students showcased impressive performances aimed at raising awareness of social issues. A commitment to ‘Stop Food Wastage’ was also administered to all dignitaries, school management, teachers, students, and parents.
Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman of Mahavir International School; Gourav Abrol, Director of the school; Kundan Lal Dogra, Principal; along with school staff, teachers, students, and parents were also in attendance.
