Jammu, Jan 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the Shrimad Bhagwat Samagam at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, today. The event was honored by the presence of Acharya Mahamandleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri ji Maharaj.
In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor urged spiritual leaders, thinkers, and social influencers to unite both mind and heart, contributing towards nation building. “Our primary goal should be to foster the spirit of unity among all humanity,” he stated.
“Mahakumbh represents the convergence of spirituality, education, experience, and enlightenment. It epitomizes the rich spiritual legacy, culture, and traditions of India,” he remarked.
He noted that the veneration of saints at Mahakumbh illuminates our journey and steers us towards virtuous living.
“Samagam serves as a gateway to the highest consciousness. It is also a convergence of eminent personalities who provide leadership across various societal sectors,” the Lieutenant Governor mentioned.
He encouraged religious leaders, saints, educators, scientists, and philosophers to diligently promote our profound spiritual heritage to the younger generation, connecting more youth to nation-building and realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
“The lives and visions of our ancient saints, philosophers, and teachers—rooted in selfless service, brotherhood, equality, and universal values—serve as an inspiration for all humanity. They motivated people to pursue the righteous path and awaken society towards fulfilling its duties for a developed community,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor underscored the need for a nationwide campaign in mission mode to preserve and nurture India’s ancient civilizational heritage.
Our mystic saints have, since time immemorial, created a divine environment through meditation and yoga, laying the groundwork for the comprehensive development and welfare of humanity.
He pointed out that modern communication tools, including social media, have transcended geographical borders. We must leverage these platforms to disseminate research, books, magazines, and monographs on meditation and yoga to every corner of the globe, he asserted.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the foundational framework of cultural and spiritual organizations should revolve around three pillars: Education, Experience, and Enlightenment.
By empowering society through a system founded on education, experience, and enlightenment, we can uplift every segment of the population without discrimination. This approach will focus on character development, fostering a resilient society centered on equality and social justice, while instilling self-respect and pride among citizens, he further remarked.
He also urged devotees attending Mahakumbh from around the world to act as ambassadors for India’s glorious culture.
