Jammu, Jan 24: Today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unveiled a book titled ‘Mountain Goddesses: Finding Feminine Power from an Unexpected Place,’ authored by Manu Khajuria Singh. The Lieutenant Governor praised the author and wished her well in her future literary pursuits.
‘Mountain Goddesses’ chronicles the author’s journey of uncovering the profound feminine strength rooted in her homeland of Jammu.
Manu Khajuria Singh, a freelance writer and commentator from Jammu Kashmir, is dedicated to exploring the region’s history, culture, and contemporary issues. After relocating to the United Kingdom and observing how the youth are influenced by modern female icons, she felt compelled to highlight the numerous, yet underappreciated, stories centered on women from her homeland. These empowering narratives serve as alternative indigenous role models, offering a fresh perspective on femininity.
Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor launched the J&K Shri Kashi Vidwat Parishad’s Panchang Calendar 2025 at Raj Bhawan today. He congratulated Padma Shri Prof. Vishwa Murti Shastri, the President of J&K Shri Kashi Vidwat Parishad Jammu, along with the editorial team and all parishad members.
This calendar will deliver details on auspicious events, festivals, and religious observances. During the event, representatives from Shri Kashi Vidwat Parishad Jammu also raised important issues regarding the promotion of Sanskrit language and Vedic studies in Jammu Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor assured them that necessary actions would be taken to address the concerns discussed during the meeting.
