JAMMU, Feb 8: A person, implicated in a recent shooting incident at Phallain Mandal, sustained injuries during a police counter-fire on the Ring Road in the Miran Sahib region today.
Daljot Singh, also known as Daljot Punjabi, from Dashmesh Nagar, Satwari, Jammu, was in a Bolero vehicle with his accomplice Aman Singh, also referred to as Anu, traveling from Samba to Jammu, according to a police spokesperson.
Upon receiving tips, law enforcement set up a checkpoint on the Ring Road, coordinated by SHOs from Miran Sahib and Satwari.
When the suspects were signaled to stop by the police, they opened fire, leading to Daljot Punjabi being injured due to the police’s return fire in self-defense.
He was subsequently transported to the Government Medical College Jammu, where he is reportedly responding well to treatment.
In the meantime, Aman Singh, his associate, has been taken into custody.
