NEW DELHI, Jan 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Election Commission on Sunday for leveraging technology to enhance democracy and demonstrating a commitment to fair elections.
His commendation of the election authority during his monthly Mann ki Baat broadcast comes just ahead of its foundation celebration on January 25, which is observed as National Voters’ Day, amidst ongoing criticism from the opposition regarding allegations of bias towards the BJP.
Modi asserted that the Election Commission has consistently modernized and fortified the electoral process.
“It has harnessed technology to empower the electorate,” he stated, encouraging citizens to actively participate in elections to reinforce and engage in the democratic process.
