JAMMU, Jan 27: In a shocking development, a woman was robbed in her Rajbagh home late on the night of January 26th by four masked assailants wielding sharp weapons, including swords.
The incident took place around midnight at the residence of Ashu Jamwal, situated just 300 meters away from the Rajbagh Police Station along the National Highway.
Recalling the traumatic experience, Ashu shared that while her family was asleep, the burglars gained entry through the back of their house.
She stated that the intruders held a sword to her head and demanded she surrender all her valuables.
Out of fear for her safety, Ashu complied, opening her Almirah and handing over gold and cash valued at Rs 2.5 lakh, as well as a licensed firearm.
The assailants instructed her not to alert the police and discarded her mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
Immediately after the incident, Ashu reported it to the police, but by the time they arrived, the criminals had already escaped.
A police team surveyed the area and has initiated an investigation.
The victim has called upon local authorities to increase vigilance, noting the rise in theft and burglary incidents in the vicinity recently.
Law enforcement is currently working to identify the suspects and ensure the safety of the local community.
