Chandigarh, March 1: The Punjab Police announced on Saturday that an associate of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang was arrested in Amritsar. The suspect, identified as Gurbaaz Singh, was apprehended during a targeted intelligence operation.
Jagdeep Singh, also known as Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, is known to be an ally of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
“In a prompt intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence has successfully dismantled an illegal weapon smuggling network, resulting in the capture of Gurbaaz Singh, an associate of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang. Authorities seized six .32 bore pistols along with ten rounds of ammunition,” stated Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav in a post on X.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the firearms were smuggled from Madhya Pradesh for the purpose of criminal activities in Punjab,” he added. Further investigations are ongoing to trace the supply chain and identify additional individuals involved in the illegal arms trade. (AGENCIES)
