MARSEILLE, Feb 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron met on Wednesday to discuss enhancing trade and investment relationships between their nations, committing to deepen their collaboration in the Indo-Pacific and international forums.
Following extensive discussions, both leaders emphasized their dedication to taking concrete actions that enable the global AI sector to generate positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes that serve the public good.
A joint statement released after their meeting highlighted that their talks spanned a comprehensive range of bilateral relations along with significant global and regional matters.
The two leaders underscored the pressing need for reform in the United Nations Security Council, agreeing to collaborate closely on various international issues, including UNSC-related topics.
President Macron reaffirmed France’s strong support for India’s bid for permanent membership in the UNSC.
