MUMBAI, Jan 28: The reigning champions Mumbai have revealed their 16-member squad for the crucial Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match against Meghalaya, which starts in Mumbai on Thursday. Notably absent from the lineup are Indian stars Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer, who have all joined the national team in preparation for the upcoming ODI series against England beginning February 6.
Returning to the squad are Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Suryansh Shedge, and Atharva Ankolekar.
Mumbai is looking to bounce back from their recent five-wicket loss to Jammu and Kashmir, and they will need a commanding victory against Meghalaya—preferably with a bonus point—to keep their title hopes alive. They will also be hoping for a favorable result from the match between Baroda and the current table leaders, Jammu and Kashmir.
Rohit and Jaiswal had participated in the sixth-round match at BKC Ground, adhering to the BCCI’s mandate for domestic participation. Meanwhile, Iyer has been an integral player for Mumbai across various formats this season. All three players are also included in the Indian squad for next month’s Champions Trophy.
Karsh Kothari, who played in the last match against Jammu and Kashmir, was not selected for this game.
