JAMMU, Dec 12: In a bid to address urgent issues surrounding judicial reforms and inadequate infrastructure in both High Courts and lower courts, a delegation from the Legal Cell of the National Conference (NC) engaged in a significant discussion with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today.
The delegation, headed by D.S. Chuhan, president of the Legal Cell, alongside Mehrukh Sydan, Vice President, and Nisar Gattoo, Additional Secretary, submitted a comprehensive memorandum to the Chief Minister.
During the meeting, they highlighted the severe deficiencies in courtrooms, staffing, and technological support across the judiciary. They stressed the urgent need for modernizing the judicial framework to expedite case resolution and provide resources that empower legal professionals to deliver justice effectively.
CM Abdullah thanked the JKNC Legal Cell for bringing these crucial matters to light and assured the delegation of his dedication to addressing their concerns, recognizing that judicial reforms and infrastructure improvements are vital for ensuring timely justice for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
