SRINAGAR, Feb 11: Tanvir Sadiq, the spokesperson for the National Conference (NC) and MLA of Zadibal, stated on Tuesday that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has informed Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the incidents in Kathua and Baramulla, highlighting that such occurrences could create a sense of alienation among the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
During a press briefing, Sadiq mentioned that the Chief Minister addressed several issues, including the restoration of statehood and the recent incidents in Kathua and Baramulla, during his conversation with the Home Minister.
“While we cannot intervene directly in these matters as law and order falls outside our jurisdiction, we have raised the issues with the Home Minister. We are actively engaged in this matter, and we emphasize that no innocent life should be lost. The cooperation of the public is vital to enhance the situation,” Sadiq remarked.
He emphasized that discussions occurred in a friendly environment. “We have consistently urged for the restoration of statehood at the earliest so that all related issues can be effectively addressed.” (KNO)
