PESHAWAR, Jan 11: At least nine people lost their lives in a collision involving a passenger coach and a trailer in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Saturday, according to police reports.
The tragic incident occurred on the Indus Highway at Amberi Kalle Chowk in Karak district, involving a trailer and a passenger coach.
Authorities stated that the accident resulted in at least nine fatalities and was attributed to overspeeding.
Rescue teams and police promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to a medical facility.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed his condolences for the nine passengers who lost their lives in the incident.
He instructed that all essential medical care be provided to those injured in the accident.
“We share in the sorrow of the families affected by the tragedy on Indus Highway,” noted Gandapur. (PTI)
