MUMBAI, Dec 10: Nita Ambani, founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, received the “Outstanding Contribution to Brand India” award at the 20th CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) ceremony held in Mumbai. The award was presented by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. This honor recognizes individuals whose efforts enhance the country’s profile beyond its borders.
Nita Ambani’s extensive contributions in education, culture, sports, and philanthropy have made her an exemplary recipient of this award. As the founder of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), she has established a significant platform that showcases India’s rich cultural heritage while fostering connections with the global artistic community.
In less than two years, NMACC has hosted over 6,000 artists and welcomed more than 2 million visitors, securing its reputation as one of the top cultural venues globally.
Furthermore, Nita’s commitment to empowering future generations is highlighted by the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, which has recently been ranked 11th among the leading International Baccalaureate (IB) schools worldwide.
Nita Ambani has also been pivotal in transforming the Indian media and sports landscape. As Chairperson of the Viacom Disney joint venture, she has significantly influenced the reshaping of Indian media. Her dedication to Indian sports, especially cricket, and her efforts in supporting India’s participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics underscore her global impact.
