JAMMU, Mar 5: The president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri, called for an increase in the Medical Allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month, aligning with the standards set by UT administrations across India.
While addressing NMC members during a gathering, Shastri stated that the announcement should be made in the ongoing budget session of J&K when the Budget is presented.
He also advocated for a 2 percent hike in housing rent for J&K employees, citing that the Dearness Allowance has surpassed 50 percent.
Additionally, he has requested the release of a 4 percent Dearness Allowance due from January 1, 2025, as well as the merging of 50 percent of DA with both pension and pay.
Others present at the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ram Singh, Anil Gupta, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Birbal, Raman Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Subash Sharma, and Ram Lal Sharma.
