WASHINGTON, Jan 9: Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has officially signed a bill to recognize October as “Hindu Heritage Month” in the state.
The signing took place on Wednesday, attended by former state Senator Niraj Antani, who was a key sponsor of the legislation, along with several community leaders.
Antani expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am immensely thankful to Governor DeWine for signing this bill. He has fostered a strong relationship with the Hindu community throughout Ohio, and I appreciate his leadership.”
He added, “After two challenging years of effort, I am proud to achieve this milestone for our community.”
The bill is now enacted and will take effect in 90 days, with October 2025 marking Ohio’s first official Hindu Heritage Month. (PTI)
