MUMBAI, Dec 23: Travel solutions provider InterGlobe Air Transport (IGAT) announced on Monday that Oman Air, a Middle-Eastern airline, has chosen IGAT as its exclusive General Sales Agent (GSA).

A GSA serves as a third-party sales representative for airlines within a designated region or country, handling the sale of flight tickets, cargo capacity, and various other airline services.

This collaboration aims to tap into the company’s vast network and expertise to enhance Oman Air’s visibility and customer service in the Indian market, as stated by IGAT.

Oman Air operates over 90 flights each week to 10 different cities in India from its hub in Muscat.

“Our goal is to provide seamless connectivity that elevates the travel experience for our clients and plays a significant role in Oman Air’s growth and achievements in India,” commented Siddhanta Sharma, President and CEO of IGAT.

The firm also plans to offer a wide range of sales and service support, covering passenger airline management, marketing, reservations, ticketing, and call center operations to strengthen Oman Air’s presence in India.

“India represents a crucial market for Oman Air, and we are thrilled to expand our footprint and enhance our offerings for Indian travelers through this strategic alliance with InterGlobe Air Transport. Utilizing their extensive network and expertise, we will greatly enhance our position in India,” stated Sunil V A, Regional Vice President for ISC (commercial sales) at Oman Air.

IGAT brings a wealth of experience in both passenger and cargo sales. Founded in 1989, IGAT represents several leading global airlines in India, along with a car rental service and a prominent hotel booking platform.

The company operates in over 30 cities in India and has international offices in the UK, UAE, and Qatar. (PTI)
