JAMMU, Feb 10: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that he engaged in discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding various critical issues, including the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, security matters, and governance. The meeting took place at Parliament today.
After the meeting, Omar Abdullah shared with reporters that he had an in-depth discussion with Amit Shah concerning J&K statehood, governance issues, the security landscape, and the impending budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly scheduled for March 3.
This marked the third encounter between Omar Abdullah and Amit Shah since Abdullah’s appointment as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
When asked about the unity of the INDIA bloc, Omar Abdullah noted that he preferred not to comment publicly. He stated, “If the INDIA bloc convenes any meetings in the future, I will address the concerns there. I avoid discussing these matters in the media to prevent misinterpretation. Therefore, I will save any discussions for the INDIA bloc meeting.”
Last week, the Home Minister also led a security review meeting at his residence in New Delhi, which included top security and civil officials, including Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. (KNO)
